Erin came to me with the idea to make a golden ring for herself to celebrate her golden birthday. Her grandmother had lots of cocktail rings which gave her the idea to buy herself some jewelry and create a custom ring. She had interest in making a variation of the Marina ring that included the pearl but also included the pizzazz of the Neela ring. For this piece we made it in 18k gold to give it that bright saturated gold look. We replaced the side pearls with side diamonds as well and also replaced the surrounding diamonds on the north and south sides with gold beads. The beads are a nice substitute for the diamonds because they manage to reflect quite a lot of light and texture to an otherwise all sleek piece. I love doing mashups like this and would be happy to make a variation of this in the future.
