Ellie and her family went on a very special trip to Tanzania and came back with a loose tanzanite stone to commemorate it. She wanted the asscher cut tanzanite to be used for an everyday necklace. Her two inspirations were a simple diamond halo pendant she had seen in the store and the halo from Sophie’s engagement ring. With this starting point, I came up with three different designs for her. She chose the design you see here which as a patterned border of diamonds which freshens up the traditional diamond halo. I really like the look of diamond around colored stones because diamonds attract so much attention with their sparkle but because they’re colorless they don’t take any attention away from the center gemstone.
